Emission testing technology
Four-gas tester of the next MET generation
Precise four-gas measurement to the latest standard: the MET GT7.0 is the successor to the MET series and optionally measures NO and NO2 separately — a workshop unit without a laboratory price tag.
Concept phaseA vehicle can pass the standard emissions test and still emit too much nitrogen oxide — due to exhaust aftertreatment systems that are old or have been tampered with. The EU is planning to integrate direct NOx measurement more closely into emissions testing. Testing centres and workshops thus require measurement technology that captures NOx in addition to performing the traditional emissions test.
The ratio of NO to NO2 cannot be converted using a constant factor — especially not in modern petrol vehicles (including GDI and TGDI). That is why the MET GT7.0 optionally measures both concentrations separately, not mathematically estimated. This is the only way to reliably detect malfunctions and tampering in exhaust aftertreatment systems.
O2, CO, CO2 and HC with lambda value calculation. The new NDIR measuring bench meets the requirements of OIML R99 for accuracy class 00.
The unit runs on the proven MAHA Emission Software (MES). The new housing concept makes operation and maintenance more accessible. The integrated display shows the unit’s status; data is transferred via Bluetooth or USB. The sensor units require minimal maintenance, and calibration and adjustment are quick even during ongoing operation. Service and spare parts come via the existing MAHA network.
Two versions are planned: in the BASIC housing and as a compact version.
The innovations shown are at different stages of development. They are not available at short notice and will not necessarily be implemented in the version shown at the trade fair.
